15 High School Seniors Receive 2024 Carl E. Stotz Little League Baseball® Scholarships
In the world of youth sports, Little League® stands as a beacon, fostering athletic development, teamwork, and community spirit in young athletes across the globe. Founded in 1939 by Carl E. Stotz, this iconic organization has become the largest youth sports program, shaping generations of baseball and softball players.
To honor Mr. Stotz’s vision and his commitment to nurturing local talent, the Little League International Board of Directors established the Carl E. Stotz Little League Baseball® Scholarship in 1994. This prestigious scholarship program rewards academic excellence and exemplary citizenship among high school seniors in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania – the birthplace of Little League.
Since its inception, the Carl E. Stotz Little League Baseball® Scholarship has provided over $260,500 in financial assistance to 282 deserving students, empowering them to pursue higher education and continue their journey of personal growth.
This year, 15 exceptional scholars were selected to receive the $750 scholarship, each having demonstrated outstanding academic performance, athletic prowess, and a commitment to community service. Their essays on “The Importance of Little League Baseball to Me” shed light on the profound impact this youth sports organization has had on their lives.
From developing teamwork and sportsmanship to fostering perseverance and confidence, Little League has played a pivotal role in shaping these young leaders.
