Local Brands Align for Olympic Preparation
Park City-based Kodiak announced a partnership with U.S. Ski & Snowboard on December 9, positioning the protein and whole-grain brand as a key nutrition supporter for American winter athletes ahead of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy. The Games are scheduled for February and March 2026.
The partnership centers on upgrading and stocking the kitchen at U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s USANA Center of Excellence powered by iFIT, which will now be called the “Kodiak Kitchen.” The facility serves as the training hub for the organization’s elite athlete programs.
“U.S. Ski & Snowboard embodies the drive, resilience and love of the outdoors that also inspires us and our commitment to feeding epic days and wilder lives,” said Val Oswalt, Chief Executive Officer of Kodiak. “We are honored to stand behind these world-class athletes in our home of Park City and provide the fuel they need to secure their next podium win.”
Supporting Elite Training Demands
The agreement gives nearly 240 elite skiers and snowboarders access to Kodiak’s product line during their preparation for Milano Cortina 2026. U.S. Ski & Snowboard manages 10 teams, including alpine, cross country, freestyle moguls, freestyle aerials, freeski, nordic combined, Para alpine, ski jumping, Para snowboard, and snowboard programs.
Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, noted the existing relationship between the athletes and the brand. “It’s a natural fit – their product is already a staple with our athletes, and their experience in the industry is a bonus,” she said.
For Kodiak, the deal represents an expansion into winter sports after establishing partnerships with athletes in trail running, cycling, and climbing. Founded in Park City over 30 years ago, the company produces high-protein, whole-grain breakfast and snack products without artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors.
Strategic Timing Before Milano Cortina
The partnership announcement comes roughly 14 months before the start of the 2026 Winter Games. U.S. Ski & Snowboard, founded in 1905, serves as the Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Body for ski and snowboard sports in the United States. Beyond elite competition, the organization provides guidance for tens of thousands of young skiers and snowboarders nationwide.
The kitchen upgrade at the Park City headquarters aims to ensure athletes have consistent access to nutrition that supports intensive training schedules. The proximity of both organizations in Park City creates operational advantages for the partnership’s execution.
