Professional Sports Group Expands Youth Programming
Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the parent company behind the Nets, Liberty and Barclays Center, is opening a dedicated youth basketball facility this fall. The Brooklyn Basketball Training Center will be located in downtown Brooklyn, directly across the street from Barclays Center.
The facility will offer after-school and weekend programming alongside one-on-one training sessions. BSE also plans to make the space available for birthday parties and corporate events, expanding its revenue streams beyond traditional basketball instruction.
Technology Integration Through Shoot 360 Partnership
Shoot 360 will install eight training stations at the facility, consisting of five shooting cages and three skill development cages. The shooting cages measure and track analytics including arc, alignment and shooting percentage. The skill cages focus on ball-handling and passing challenges through gamified training programs.
“Our goal has been to bring [basketball training] into the 21st century,” Shoot 360 Founder and President Craig Moody told Sports Business Journal. “There’s a really deep tradition in U.S. basketball of coaching, but it’s all been subjective. The only real objective information we give is the stat line.”
The technology aims to provide objective data to inform training decisions and track player progression against peer benchmarks.

Shoot 360’s Growing Footprint in Basketball Training
The company currently operates 55 facilities across the United States with an additional 60 locations under development. Several professional teams have direct involvement with Shoot 360 operations.
The Golden State Warriors own one franchise location, while the LA Clippers and Utah Jazz each operate co-branded facilities. Shoot 360 has also installed a fan experience booth at the Clippers’ Intuit Dome.
Athlete investors backing the company include Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, Hawks guard Trae Young, 17-year NBA veteran Thaddeus Young, and retired player Jamal Crawford.
Strategic Implications for Youth Basketball Facilities
BSE’s investment represents a broader trend of professional sports organizations developing dedicated youth programming infrastructure. The integration of AI-powered training technology suggests facility operators are seeking competitive advantages through data analytics and enhanced user experiences.
The downtown Brooklyn location positions the facility to serve both recreational players and serious athletes, with the Barclays Center proximity providing additional marketing value and potential crossover opportunities with professional team programming.
