As the world gears up for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Visa is making waves with its commitment to youth and diversity in sports. The company’s Team Visa program, now in its most diverse iteration yet, includes 147 athletes from 67 countries across 40 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
Highlighting the youth focus, the roster features rising stars like Sky Brown, the young British skateboarding sensation, alongside first-time Olympians in new sports such as Breaking. This blend of youth and experience underscores Visa’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of athletic talent.
In a move to engage young fans, Visa has launched several initiatives:
- The Visa Go mobile app, offering unique experiences and exclusive content, particularly appealing to tech-savvy young audiences.
- A collaboration with global artists, including young street artists, to create public art celebrating the Games and local businesses.
- An immersive Roblox experience called “Olympic World presented by Visa,” designed to captivate younger, digital-native fans.
Most notably, Visa has partnered with Sport Dans La Ville, a youth sports program in Paris. This partnership will provide hundreds of tickets to Paris 2024 for program participants, fund new sports centers, and support a girls mentorship program. Additionally, Visa is backing a development program for young journalists with Le Monde, fostering the next generation of sports media professionals.
These initiatives demonstrate Visa’s commitment to not just celebrating youth in sports, but actively investing in their future both on and off the field.
