A First for Perfect Game in Philadelphia
Perfect Game announced Thursday that the 2026 DICK’S All-American Classic will be played at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Sunday, August 16 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The event marks the first time Perfect Game has staged an event at the Phillies’ home venue and the first East Coast appearance for the All-American Classic in over two decades.
The game anchors a full weekend of elite amateur baseball programming, including the PG All-Star Game on Friday, August 14 and the Launch Hydrate Home Run Challenge on Saturday, August 15.
Why Philadelphia, Why Now
The venue choice ties directly to Philadelphia’s central role in America’s 250th birthday celebrations throughout 2026. The city is also hosting MLB’s All-Star Game this summer, making it a focal point for baseball at every level.
Citizens Bank Park has hosted three World Series (2008, 2009, 2022) and the 2012 NHL Winter Classic.
“Hosting our premiere event in the birthplace of America during the nation’s 250th anniversary makes this especially meaningful,” said Perfect Game Chairman Rick Thurman. “Citizens Bank Park provides an iconic stage to celebrate both the future of baseball and a historic moment for the country.”
Manuel Adds Legacy Connection
Charlie Manuel, the winningest manager in Phillies history, has been named Honorary Chairman. Manuel led the Phillies to back-to-back National League pennants in 2008-09 and the 2008 World Series title.
“There’s no better baseball city, no better fans and no better place to showcase MLB’s next generation of stars,” Manuel said.
Track Record of Top Talent
The DICK’S All-American Classic showcases the top 60 high school players in the country each year. Past participants include Bryce Harper (2009), Francisco Lindor (2010), Hunter Greene (2016), Bobby Witt Jr. (2018), and Gunnar Henderson (2018). The game has previously been held at Petco Park, Dodger Stadium, and Chase Field.
Player rosters, coaching staffs, and broadcast details will be announced later this year.
