Key Takeaways
- Capacity Sports Group acquires United Sports, YSC Sports, Sideline Sports Solutions, and Flag Football Life, adding two Philadelphia-area campuses to its national platform
- The combined business now spans 300,000+ square feet of indoor space, roughly 80 acres of outdoor fields, and 130+ tournaments annually drawing more than 10,000 teams
- Sideline Sports Solutions operates 10 of the top 50 Got Sport-ranked youth soccer tournaments, including the No. 1-ranked FC Europa Turf Cup
- Flag Football Life runs NFL FLAG leagues across 25+ locations and is actively expanding into 10 new states ahead of the sport’s 2028 Olympic debut
- Fortified Partners advised sellers; DLA Piper, Duane Morris, and Fleck Eckert Klein McGarry served as legal counsel, with Ropes & Gray representing CSG
A Mid-Atlantic Footprint Anchored by Two Premier Campuses
The deal brings two of the largest indoor and outdoor complexes in the Northeast under CSG’s umbrella. United Sports in Downingtown, PA, founded in 1998, includes 218,000 square feet of indoor space, 11 professional-grade outdoor fields, and the 91,000 square foot Kinetic Dome, a climate-controlled indoor turf facility. YSC Sports in Wayne, PA, founded in 2008, adds another 90,000 square feet of training and competition space and serves more than 1,500 teams and 7,500 individual registrations each year.
Together, the two campuses give CSG a dense Philadelphia-region footprint across soccer, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, and volleyball.
A Soccer Tournament Business with Top National Rankings
S3 brings what may be the most strategically valuable asset in the transaction: ranked tournament inventory. The business operates more than 40 events per year and holds 10 of the top 50 Got Sport-ranked tournaments in the country. That includes the FC Europa Turf Cup, currently the No. 1-ranked event nationally, and the FC Delco Players Cup, which draws roughly 850 teams and more than 14,000 players each year.
Top-ranked tournaments command premium team fees, drive overnight travel spend, and serve as recruiting funnels for college programs, all of which compound the value of the underlying facility footprint.
Flag Football Life Adds National Reach Ahead of LA28
FFL extends the platform well beyond the Mid-Atlantic. The business operates NFL FLAG leagues at more than 25 locations and runs a tournament circuit across 15+ states and Canada. It is now expanding into California, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York/New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia.
The timing tracks with flag football’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, an event already credited with accelerating youth participation across the country.
Where Capacity Sports Group Now Stands
CSG already manages Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, one of the country’s largest youth sports destinations at more than 400 acres with 31 multi-purpose fields and 26 baseball and softball diamonds. With this acquisition, CSG now controls roughly 150 diamonds and fields under management, 300+ elite events annually, and projects 20 million visitors across its venues in 2026.
“The addition of these well-respected companies into Capacity Sports Group is a statement about where our company is headed, which is a national youth sports platform regardless of the sport,” said Ken Kocher, CEO of Capacity Sports Group.
John Hatt, President of United Sports, framed the deal from the seller side: “United Sports, YSC, S3, and FFL have a common mission to create a memorable experience for our participants and their families. Capacity Sports Group shares that value.”
What the Combined Platform Means for the Sector
The deal lands as the youth sports facility category continues to consolidate around platforms that pair owned real estate with proprietary tournament IP. CSG’s combination of Grand Park anchor scale, Northeast facility density, top-50 soccer tournaments, and a national flag football circuit puts it in most of the highest-growth verticals in youth sports at once. The next signals to watch: FFL’s geographic rollout and any cross-sell of S3’s tournament playbook into CSG’s broader venue network.
