A Campaign Tied to a Decades-Old Tradition
On June 8, the first day of National Little League Week, Little League International announced “Rally for Little League,” an expanded philanthropy campaign. National Little League Week is an officially recognized celebration that dates to 1959, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower made the declaration.
The campaign builds on the Text to Donate efforts Little League introduced in 2025. It serves as the creative expression of the organization’s broader fundraising strategy, pulling messaging together across audiences to raise both awareness and money for the program.
Supporters can give at LittleLeague.org/Rally or by texting RALLY to 345345. Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Where the Funding Goes
As a nonprofit, Little League directs revenue toward removing cost barriers for the roughly two million children and one million volunteers connected to the program worldwide. The organization detailed several of its current investments.
Operating its seven Region and World Series tournaments costs about $18 million, with $8 million tied to the Little League Baseball World Series alone. That figure covers housing, travel, and accommodations for international and domestic teams, which runs roughly $20,000 to $40,000 per team. Little League also works with official sponsors to provide equipment, uniforms, and gear valued at about $1.8 million a year to World Series participants.
Additional support includes more than $475,000 in grants for Region and World Series host committees and about $311,000 in mileage reimbursement for teams advancing to Region tournaments.
Programs Backed by Donor Dollars
Several Little League programs depend on philanthropic and sponsor support. The T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant has awarded more than $8.2 million since 2020, helping cover registration fees for more than 82,000 children.
The organization also continues investing in its softball program and the Girls with Game Initiative. All 22 games of the 2026 Little League Softball World Series are set to air on ESPN linear networks.
Disaster relief is another focus. Little League most recently provided a $25,000 grant to Ingram (Texas) Little League to support flood recovery. Free resources round out the list, including a Rulebook App that saw 92,000 downloads in 2025 and 125 free background checks per league, which saved leagues more than $375,000 last year.
What 2025 Giving Showed
During the 2025 season, Little League received more than $250,000 from donors, all of which goes back to support local leagues. Notably, 37 percent of those donations were made in honor or memory of individuals who passed away during the year.
The program’s reach extended through partners as well. Major League Baseball pledged all proceeds from its 2025 Winter Meetings Charity Auction to the Little League Disaster Relief Fund, totaling nearly $200,000. In the same year, Little League International earned the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency, a designation for nonprofits that publicly share key organizational data.
A Fundraising Push Built Around Mission, Not Margin
Little League’s pitch to donors rests on what separates it from for-profit youth baseball and softball operators. “What sets Little League apart from other youth baseball and softball programs is that we are a mission-driven nonprofit,” said Patrick Wilson, Little League President and CEO. By framing the campaign around access and direct community impact, Little League is asking supporters to fund the experience itself rather than the operation behind it. The 2025 giving data, especially the share of memorial donations, points to the organization leaning into the emotional connection families have with the program as its core fundraising asset.
