Key Takeaways
- Scorability’s camp platform logged more than 250,000 verified measurables and 69,000 videos across 350-plus college football camp sessions in June, the company reported.
- Fifty thousand athletes received verified performance records routed directly to their recruiting profiles during the one-month rollout.
- Roughly 14,500 college coaches and parents tracked camp results live through the Scorability app, according to the company.
- The platform now serves more than 1.2 million athletes and 4,500 college programs across all divisions of college athletics.
Scorability, an Austin-based recruiting technology company, said its camp technology captured verified recruiting data for 50,000 athletes during a one-month rollout across more than 350 college football camp sessions in June. Deployed alongside Ryzer, the company’s camp management platform, the Scorability mobile app logged over 250,000 verified measurables and 69,000 videos, according to a July 16 announcement from the company.
Replacing Paper Notes With Structured Camp Data
Football camps have long run on manual processes: registration lines, unplanned walk-ups, and athlete evaluations recorded on paper, spreadsheets, or individual coach notes that rarely stayed accessible once the camp ended. Scorability said its Ryzer product enhancements cut the time needed to check in the hundreds or thousands of athletes arriving each day. At the same time, operators used the technology to capture verified measurables and video, feeding live camp leaderboards during each session.
“It’s thrilling to unlock value for the athletes and their parents, while helping college coaches run world-class camp experiences,” said Brian Cruver, CEO and co-founder of Scorability, who described himself as a former camp parent trying to understand how the event fit into his child’s recruiting process.
Camp Data That Outlives the Camp
The larger shift is what happens after the camp ends. Scorability said coaches across the country can review verified data and video without attending an event in person, extending each session’s reach beyond the sideline. Athletes and parents receive their camp performance and video directly on their athlete profiles. That gives college coaches a verified record to evaluate throughout the recruiting cycle, and gives athletes a documented asset to promote themselves and benchmark against peers.
The 14,500 coaches and parents who followed results live, per the company, point to demand for real-time visibility that paper scorecards never offered.
Rolling the Technology Out Beyond Football
Scorability said strong demand from camp owners across sports prompted it to make the camp technology available to all customers immediately, with non-football deployments already planned. The move follows the company’s expansion of its recruiting services beyond football earlier this year, when it added support for seven additional sports. The platform now reaches more than 1.2 million athletes and over 4,500 college programs, the company said. Scorability is headquartered in Austin, with its Ryzer division based in Des Moines, Iowa.
Non-Football Camps Are Next on the Calendar
June served as the proof point for a single sport at scale. With deployments across other sports already scheduled and the technology now open to every Scorability customer, the open question is how much of the fragmented, multi-sport camp market the company can convert to verified, portable athlete data before competitors close the gap.
